Well, I did it. I'm an automobile owner. Well, actually the Ford Motor Company is for the next five years. I bought a used 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic. Tan color, 4 doors, automatic, power windows, power locks, power seat, tripometer, automatic trunk opener, driver's side cupholder, CD player, plenty of storage, cruise control and more. Plenty of head and legroom for someone 6'1" tall, very important.

Glad you asked. Nope, I haven't. In fact, I haven't yet paid one thin dime for the car. According to USAA General yesterday, they had not even received the title to my old car, even though I mailed it Nov. 10. From what I understand, the title could be down in their mailroom and hasn't been delivered within the company yet. Also, the guy I mailed it to is out of the office 'til Wed., so it could be on his desk. The dealership gave me until Nov. 30 to deliver the down payment, but my generous sister-in-law has offered to lend me the money until the check comes, so I'm covered even if USAA drags its heels. Thank you, Mandi!
