By The Way...
...does anyone actually give a damn to read essays about 25-year-old TV shows that nobody watched the first time they were on? My Comments file is not exactly overflowing with praise.

Nah, keep going! Anyone can write about old crappy movies, but it takes a special...something...to cover crappy TV shows. I wait with baited breath for you to uncover and review all four episodes of BALL FOUR. And where is that SHERIFF LOBO retrospective? You've still got lots to do!

I don't mind the reviews a bit; actually it's fascinating to revisit some of these. I was 12 in 1980, and remember the era well, but didn't get to see everything.

I'm still wondering when the hell the WHITE SHADOW season sets will come out, from that era. Season three was anticlimactic but the first two seasons were classic.

Speaking of season three, that was one instance where a show suffered from being TOO realistic. All of the key players graduated, leaving Reeves with a bunch of newcomers, and the newcomers were every bit as interesting as Beau, Mary and all the other newcomers were to WELCOME BACK, KOTTER.

On LOBO, I have to say, that was some fun trash. I always found it more fun to watch than BJ AND THE BEAR, its parent show. Although it says a lot about the NBC Silverman era that he was spinning shows off from BJ AND THE BEAR!

It's a backlash against Bob Conrad for his BATTLE OF THE NETWORK STARS unsportsmanslike tirades. The public has a long memory.

That's my guess.

I also liked LOBO better than B.J. AND THE BEAR. I also preferred ENOS to THE DUKES OF HAZZARD.

The TV reviews are great. it's just that i don't have many insightful or intelligent comments after i'm through reading about them. of course, if you wanted to switch to an all-sasquatch-all-the-time format, i wouldn't complain either.

Heck yeah! They're the reason I linked your blog to mine! Love those old TV reviews. You really pick out the gems! I believe that despite what MST3K says, you CAN have a TV show that actually STARS Ben Murphy (and man can he run!)

Hi, Cyn! It's because Ben Murphy is so elusive. Why, he's even more elusive than Robert Denby!

And here I thought it was because he was so mellow. . . I had the priviledge of listening to Ben talk to his fans recently and he truly is mellow - yellow.
